PRESENTED AS PART OF CRUINNIU NA NÓG – 2025
Leaps and Bounds is an exciting showcase of new work created by an ensemble of students across four schools in South Dublin! This group of students have come together to continue exploring their interest in theatre making after participating in The Civic’s pilot education program: Stepping Stones. Stepping Stones was an introductory theatre making program for students in 6th class and 1st year. The program was facilitated by Freshly Ground Theatre in collaboration with the following schools: Sacred Heart Senior National School, Killinarden Community School, Firhouse Educate Together Primary School and Firhouse Educate Together Secondary School.
In the lead up to this sharing, the young people will work together in weekly workshops where they will take the reins in the artistic direction of the project, having the opportunity to focus on roles that they are most drawn to such as performing, directing, design and writing. As part of The Civic’s Cruinniú na nÓg program, to celebrate their creativity, they will share their work on stage in the studio! This will be followed by a post show discussion with the ensemble of students where they will reflect on their experience.
