Is mise Una. Learning has always been part of my search for meaning. I signed up for a taster workshop in The Civic Theatre in March 2018 and that led to the performance of Ghost Hares, a celebration in song and spoken word of who we are and where we come from, in May 2019. I thought that was the end of it. But no, we were invited to continue online via zoom over the summer of 2020. We couldn’t sing so we wrote for ten weeks. And, I thought that was the end of it. But no, the Civic Theatre team offered to publish our haikus, each month over the course of the following year. And when they did, I thought that was the end of it. But no, our musings and stories have been transformed into wonderful songs and performed by wonderful singers…
The Citizens Chorus and the performance of Ghost Hares was an unforgettable, fun experience with a lovely group of people. But with the summer sessions, via zoom, I learned about the power of the creative writing process. Writing a haiku each month was a challenge, reading others was a privilege, seeing them all published on the Civic Theatre website was a real pleasure. And as it further unfolds, I am looking forward to seeing the songs that were inspired by our sharing and musings.
I want to thank you for what has been an amazing journey.
So, no pressure, but what’s next?
