If I Speak Podcast- Meet the Creator: Dongo

Can you tell us a bit about yourself? Where did you grow up?
I am a 30 year old dad with 2 amazing children trying a thing or two in this online world. Oldest of 6 who grew up in Brookfield for the best part of 22 years so I’ll use that as where I grew up as that’s where I feel more at home.

Tell us about your podcast? How did it come about?

My podcast came about after going viral on another popular black and Irish podcast called WYHA Podcast (Where’s Your Head At). A clip went viral on TikTok getting 9.9 million views and from there I decided to jump into the podcast world. Prior to that I was doing content on instagram live: the lives consisted of music talent shows , live debates. I felt I was always going down that road but the process of going viral sped things up.

Have you been involved in any production in The Civic before?
No I haven’t been involved in any civic production before but my daughter has danced there before with Dream Dance Academy so it’s a proud moment for me to perform where my daughter has also performed.

What can Tallaght audiences expect from this show? 

The audience can expect an inspiring night, full of laughter, stories and inspirational moments. I hope to get them leaving The Civic with extra drive and motivation to be better and have more self belief. But expect a mad one!

The random fact about myself I will reveal on the night. It’s a secret I’ve kept from the public and they will know that night

I’m excited to take my journey to the next level. In the near future you can expect an even more diverse and engaging experience from me as a brand and personality. I’m gearing up to delve into the world of streaming and I’ll also be hosting events over the next couple of months and beyond, so I’m looking to showcase my personality outside of the podcast platform.
