The Civic and RUA RED joined forces on Saturday, 23rd August to host a tent at Tallafest 2014 in the grounds of St. Mary’s Dominican Priory in Tallaght Village.
The event was a huge success with arts & crafts workshops run by Sarah Jane Reid (Make your own tiara or pirate hat) and Asha Zsmuda (Make your own aquarium fish bowl). Causeway Productions (the company behind The Civic Christmas Panto ‘Sleeping Beauty) were with us on the day with panto character “Sammy” (Geraldine McComish) meeting and greeting the crowd and Gerry Herbert running drama workshops for children aged 5+.
Big thanks to our balloon modeller provided by Imagine IT who provided free balloon creations for children on the day.
Tallafest is in it’s second year and is 100% volunteer run by Tallaght Community Council who have been volunteering in Tallaght for over 40 years lobbying for Tallaght as it grew from a village and rural hinterlands into a city. They took on a mammoth task and delivered a great day out for families in Tallaght.
